We’re always reminding people to ensure they keep well hydrated and take on extra water, but why is that? And do you find it difficult to drink water throughout the day whilst you’re working? Let us try and help with these questions!

We literally cannot live without water, it’s difficult for the body to get water from any other way than you pouring it into to your body! Certain drinks like tea/coffee, soft drinks and alcohol actually take water from the body, so you need the real deal.

Water will help reduce tiredness, increase concentration and focus. It also plays a huge part in the digestion of food and nutrients, which in turn helps your metabolism. Remember if your metabolism is burning like a fire then it will help massively with your fat loss goals!

The more water you take on will also help reduce hunger and cravings throughout the day, and help to keep energy levels in check.

It’s really important to up your water intake again when exercising, your body will absorb so much more water after a tough workout, so you need to replace it to help cool the body down and stay hydrated.

You ideally want to drink between 2 – 3 litres of water a day. Check how much your water bottle or glass holds and try to ensure you drink enough full bottles/glasses worth to reach your quota. Check it off on a little water tally chart!

It’s good to spread it over the day, but if you struggle during work you still have before work, any breaks during the day, before/during/after your workout, and the evenings!

So keep hydrated and keep healthy, you can always find water and it’s free, so make the most of it!
